The 100 year old Käthe Kruse Toy and Doll Studio is the oldest
German toy and doll company that is still existing and working in
the traditional way.
Attention to detail, simplicity of design and integrity are still
very much a part of how the toys are made. Each toy is made by hand
and takes from 16 to 36 hours to make. During that time, it will
pass through the hands of 8 to 10 craftspeople and artists.
All Kathe Kruse toys fulfill the European Safety Regulations
and carry the
label. In addition, Kathe Kruse use materials approved to conform
to and are authorized to use the Okotex 100 mark. This scheme tests,
evaluates and screens for any harmful substances present within processed
textiles intended to come into contact with consumers. Textiles which
have passed the Okotex 100 Standard are entitled to carry the registered
